A training on "Gender equality, right to work, understanding and prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace" was organized for contractors of the Ulaanbaatar Urban Services and Ger Ares Development Investment Program Project. A total of 27 construction company employees participated in the training, including 7 female participants.
The training was conducted by a legal advisor and a social and gender specialist from the consultancy team of the project. The participants gained knowledge and information on several topics such as the prevention of corruption and official violations, the Asian Development Bank Social Safeguard Policy, labor rights, ensuring gender equality in labor relations, gender policy in the construction industry, gender-sensitive planning, understanding sexual harassment in the workplace, and ways to prevent it.
The training was highly interactive and worked on case studies and exercises. Sample procedures and clauses against sexual harassment in the workplace were provided, which could be used in the organization's internal regulations. The participants also engaged in group discussions, which made the training more effective.
